RAZE is a state-wide organization created by and for West Virginia teens. Our goal is to tear down the lies that Big Tobacco tries to sell. We do this by engaging in school and community commotions that inform and educate others about our goal. Watch for our commotions and participate when you can. Support us in tearing down tobacco lies!
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® is a life-changing, character development program for girls in 3rd through 5th grade. The girls meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 5:00 after school. At the end of the season, the girls participate in a Girls on the Run 5k event. The 5k event is open to the public and registration forms can be found on the Mountain State Girls on the Run website /. The 5k event will be held on December 7th and begin at the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department.
The Girls on the Run® mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Girls on the Run® uses the power of running to provide girls with the tools to:
Celebrate their bodies
Honor their voices
Recognize their gifts, and
Activate their personal power
Mountain State Girls on the Run combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) event with healthy living education. They use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to help girls discover the confidence they need in those critical pre-teen years and beyond. Through interactive activities such as running, playing games and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being their unique and real selves. Their hope is that every girl believes and can say, “I belong just the way I am.”
